Poets Sekou & Steve

Talk about fun! I loved working with Sekou Andrews & Steven Connell for a piece on Poets.
These amazing poets put on a show and I documented them in action. Their words are quick, cool and rolling off the tongue. Shot for Forth mag.

Flaunt Magazine

Seth Gordon the director of The King of Kong, photographed in Venice Ca. (out take from the shoot)
If you didn't see this doc. at a festival this year because you couldn't get a ticket to the sold out show, you will soon have a chance. I shot this image for Flaunt Magazine of Seth drawing the construction site of the classic video arcade game
Donkey Kong. The movie will be out in cities on Aug. 17th and 24th. The article is set to come out next month. Buy Flaunt Mag. then go to opening night of The King of Kong.

Kong opens - Seattle, NY, LA and Austin Aug. 17

SWINDLE magazine

I shot these images for a Swindle Magazine article on Digipen in Redmond Wash. Digipen is a tech. school near Nintendo that teaches kids how to make video games. I didn't have much to work with as the environment was pretty dull but I did have some kids that were freshmen willing to let me photograph them.

SPJ AWARD

Just got a call from Seattle Metropolitan magazine art director William Quinby, telling me I won an SPJ Award. I won for a photo shoot I did called "World's Fare". William suggested I push the normal style for shooting restaurants, and I went for portraits of chefs, owners and workers in action. I shot 26 restaurants in the Seattle Metro area in 3 days with the help of my boyfriend/assistant for a day, Seth. Above are some of the full page shots from the article.

SPJ is the Society of Professional Journalism

I won an
SPJ award for a shot I did for the Seattle Weekly a few years ago and also received an honorable mention for another shoot that was fashion for the weekly.
